What makes someone choose catering as a passion and career?
Simply put, I love food. My first foray into the culinary world was not unlike most; I started as a dishwasher in High School and graduated from scraping plates to cutting lettuce, making salad dressings and finally working the line in pantry. It was then that I knew that I loved cooking. I love what I do and can’t imagine working in any other profession.
I grew up in a household on Long Island that was BIG on food: back then the Stern family ate out a lot! To my Mom’s credit, she became a great home cook; sadly, it wasn’t until after I left the roost. Italian, Chinese, Jewish deli cuisine and seafood were staples for my family. I didn’t even eat a burrito until middle school, when my folks and I moved from NY to San Diego, a culture shock of immense proportions, to be sure! I found that most kids my age weren’t exactly into pickled herring and knishes. I’ve made it my personal mission to explore the culinary world ever since.
Celebrating over 13 years as one of the Eugene area’s premier caterers and event specialists, my staff and I continue to provide personalized service to both residential and corporate clients.
